Nail Polishes

I recently decided that I needed to take better care of my nails. I started using hand cream daily and cuticle oil nightly, but the most drastic change occurred when I changed my diet and upped my protein intake. I noticed a change within just a couple of days; my nails were so much stronger. It’s been three weeks now and my usually brittle nails have not broken once- they’re longer than ever and altogether healthier than they’ve ever been. So now I have a new obsession with nail polishes and I thought I’d share a few indie vegan brands I’m currently planning on working my way through.

If, like me, you’re all about going to as many vegan fairs as possible it’s likely you’ll have already come across Fairypants. They have a whole selection of gorgeous nail colours and nail care products, and also offer a range of other cosmetics including eyeshadows and perfumes with free UK shipping when you spend £35+.

For Your Nails Only

If you manage to snap up any of these nail polishes, consider yourself very, very lucky. They’re released in batches and sold out within minutes. I personally have tried several times to get my hands on some (for my wedding day, my anniversary, Christmas, my birthday..) but I’ve never quite been quick enough (I set alarms and everything!). They’re in high demand for a reason and I will get some eventually! All handmade by Sharon in Scotland and  shipping  is available in the UK and EU.

Pretty Perfect Polish

I’m a sucker for all things glittery so when I saw Pretty Perfect Polish pop up in my instagram feed I was so happy to find they were vegan! All handmade by Maegan also in Scotland, she offers UK and US shipping with EU coming soon. I’m particularly in love with her Power Puff Girls trio.

Wikkid Polish

Another one I discovered on instagram, I instantly fell in love with the Premium Holo range and I honestly can’t get enough of the swatches! They’re all so gorgeous, I’m patiently awaiting a restock of Candy Floss. All made by Sarah who is a nail polish addict herself and also a certified manicurist, there’s free UK shipping and EU shipping is available too. I recently ordered the colour shifting Dione and I already know I won’t be able to stop staring at my nails once I’ve got it on. Edit: I recieved my bottle of Dione and managed to get my hands on Candy Floss.. I can’t even tell you how amazing they are. I might be slightly addicted to these polishes now, currently wearing Pallene and Rose Garden, they’re so, so good!

Princess Nail Lacquer

Holographic, metallic, flakies, glitter, how could I not love this brand? All made by Ashleigh in a seaside town in Yorkshire, there is a facebook group called Princess Nail Posse where you can show off your PNL manis and also have access to group exclusive polishes. I’ll be ordering Allergic to Flakiness soon because it just looks perfect for Autumn and I can’t wait for Rose to be stocked!

Radioactive Unicorn

I first discovered Radioactive Unicorn at a vegan festival in Manchester. By the time I found the stall there wasn’t many polishes left so I looked for the most glittery polish I could find and bought it! I’ve no idea what it’s called but I absolutely love it. They’re also not limited to polishes and also stock cosmetics, bath bombs, shower gels and candles. They’re proudly different and not for the faint hearted.

Toxic Nailz

Another one I found on Instagram, and clearly I have a type! (it’s sparkly). One of the things I absolutely love about Toxic Nailz is the mystery boxes- 4 full size polishes but you won’t know what they are until they turn up. Perfect for someone like me who is ridiculously indecisive and can literally spend days trying to decide on what colours to order.. UK shipping starts at £1.50.

Polish Me Royalty

These polishes are adorable and there’s so many gorgeous colours to choose from. From cremes to holos, you’re bound to find a colour you love and each order comes with a glitter dip pot and a packet of nail confetti. They have literally hundreds of 5 star reviews on Etsy so you know they’re good quality too!

Prism Polish

Prism Polish have a collection of gorgeous and unique colours that come from the mind of a self-confessed geek and lover of rock and metal music. There is also a charity polish availble, where money from each sale is donated to the current month’s chosen charity. Foil transfers and glass nail files are also available to buy.
